LAY EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS ~ LEMS
Formerly known as chalice bearers and readers, LEMS are lay persons licensed by the bishop to lead public worship under the direction of the member of the clergy in charge of the congregation. A LEM must be a confirmed individual communicant in good standing trained by a member of clergy. LEMS at Christ Church read the Lessons, lead the Prayers of the People and administer the chalice. Think of it this way. You get a great seat and serve family and friends at communion.
