OPEN M
|
OPEN M is an acronym that stands for Opportunity for People Everywhere in Need Ministry. It is a comprehensive, faith-based ministry that helps people throughout the greater Akron area meet the spiritual and physical challenges of living with scarce resources.
OPEN M delivers health care through their free medical, dental and eye clinics and nutrition through numerous food programs. They help move families out of poverty and into self-sufficiency through a bold and innovative program, Bridges Out of Poverty, and other family development initiatives. They build families through mentoring, teaching, after school and summer camp programs. Christ Church is involved with OPEN M in several ways. We cook and serve a hot lunch 3 to 4 times a year, collect 200 cans of yams for the Christmas food baskets, volunteer in the health clinic and after school programs, and include Open M as one of our Service Day projects. Each activity is rewarding for both the recipients and those that serve! If you would like to get involved with Open M or have any questions, please let us know. |
