Ministries
Many of our ministries include a number of volunteer opportunities. When viewing the ministry pages, it may be helpful to keep a few thoughts in mind about what we call Spiritual Gifts.
We carry the Good News into the community through a variety of ministries — church committees that focus on specific areas of service to others. These ministries also attend to the physical and pastoral needs of our church and its members. We have learned that we all are ministers — not just the ordained priests. If you would like to participate in any of these ministries, they would welcome your help. The most important point is that we think you need to find a ministry that gives you joy and fulfillment. Come and find your place!
Everyone has been given one or more Spiritual Gifts.
They are to be used for the “building up of the church”.
The outcome of their use is that God’s Kingdom is made evident and present.
When you are using your spiritual gifts you will
• be more effective in it
• tend to devote more time and energy
• usually see greater results more consistently
Questions to ask yourself:
Are there areas in which you seem to be especially energized?
Are there areas that seem to excite or enthuse you more than others?
Are there areas in which you seem to have greater effectiveness?
Are there areas in which people seem to affirm you more than others?
